Styles with Numbering
Hi,
Wonder if anyone can help me with this. recurring problem. I'm using Word 2003. Here's an example of what's happening: I created a template with a Head3 style. It has no bullets. But when I attach it to a document, all Head3 styles are updated with bullets. In an attempt to troubleshoot, I've made all my styles in my template based on the Normal style (which does not have bulleting). Janet |

Basing this style on Normal probably won't fix this. You should check the
formatting for this heading style to be sure you have not unwittingly selected Bulleting for numbering. If this doen't work here's another suggestioin: Sometimes this can be due to Word's automatic numbering or bulleting. Go to Tools, AutoCorrect, and the tab AutoFormat as you Type and see if there are checkmarks in the boxes for Automatic Numbered lists and Automatic bulleted lists. If the bullet list is checked, try removing the checkmark and see what you get. I would also uncheck the Automatic numbering lists. Do the same for the tab AutoFormat. I think these cause a lot of trouble, along with checking Automatically Update in Modify Style. "JGM616" wrote: Hi, Wonder if anyone can help me with this. recurring problem. I'm using Word 2003. Thanks for your response Al. But I tried all of your suggestions, and they
didn't work. I still have the same problem. Does anyone else have any suggestions? Janet "AlSchultz" wrote: Basing this style on Normal probably won't fix this.
