Default How do I reformat to eliminate the dot in between each word?

When I open a Word document, I see the paragraph sign as the cursor, and each
space is punctuated with a dot. It's very distracting. I don't remember how
to get rid of this. Please help...

Click on the Show/Hide (¶) button.

See the article "What do all those funny marks, like the dots between the
words in my document, and the square bullets in the left margin, mean?" at:

Hope this helps.

Thanks so much. I had solved this problem years ago on another computer, and
don't know how/why it just started showing up on mine again. I appreciate
the reminder

It probably showed up because you pressed Ctrl+*.
