Default odd spacing on some header pages

I'm working with a five page word 2007 document with a header on page one and
a different header on all subsequent pages. The first page header looks
fine, the other header (for subsequent pages) looks fine on pages 2 and 3,
but on pages four and five it leaves several lines of empty space between the
header and the document. I've been browsing other posts and it looks like
one of the reasons this might happen is if there are artifically created page
breaks in the document. There are none in this document. Does anyone know
of any other reasons for this problem?

Is the Vertical Alignment set to something other than "Top" in one or
more sections? If so, change it. For instructions, see:

Stefan,

Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately page alignment does not seem to be
the problem. Other ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Display nonprinting marks (press Ctrl+Shift+8) to see if there is any
undesired content inside one of your headers. For more on nonprinting marks,
see http://word.mvps.org/faqs/formatting/NonPrintChars.htm.
