Default Content Controls

When inserting a "drop-down list" content control, there are two properties
required for adding a new list choice in the "Add Choice" dialog box. The two
properties a Display Name and Value.

What is the function of the Value property?

Thanks a lot

See this technical reference:

By default it is populated with the Display Name. Unless you're doing XML
programming, just accept the default.
