Default Word 2003 hyperlinks aren't working...

When I create a table of contents, I can't get to the page by clicking on the
page number. When I create a hyperlink to a bookmark in another part of the
document or in another Word document, I have to right click and then click on
'open hyperlink.'

How do I get all my hyperlinks to work when I click on them? I can't find
any entry in help--lots of stuff about creating, moving, deleting, modifying,
etc. hyperlinks but not a word about making them simply work.

Do the hyperlinks work if you Ctrl+click on them? If so, then you can
change it to a regular click by clicking on Tools | Options | Edit |
uncheck the "Use CTRL+Click to follow hyperlink" box | OK.
