problem attaching new template in Word 2003
I have some documents that were created with a custom template in the default
Microsoft location on my C drive. It was found out that others could not use some macros when opening these docs on their computer so I copied the template to a shared location on a network drive. I went into the docs and changed the location of the template (Tools|Templates and Add-ins|Document Template). It does not save the new location after I type it in. It keeps showing the template on my C drive. Sorry if this is not the right group. I tryed this twice in ....office.templates.misc and it never showed up. Help! |

About the only thing I have discovered is that you cant attach any template
that is not in the default microsoft directory. You can attach templates from the Workgroup templates area. I REALLY hate Word. "Robert M. I REALLY hate Word. FWIW, I have no trouble creating a document from template A, and later on attaching a different template B saved on my Desktop [Word 2000]. I would be surprised if this had been changed in later versions. HTH Robert -- /"\ ASCII Ribbon Campaign | MS \ / | MVP X Against HTML | for / \ in e-mail & news | Word |
