Default My word document has light graph lines through it, how do I remove

I have word 2003 and when I open any of my word documents a graph (full pages
on small squares) appears over my document. They do not print but it is
difficult to see my forms for filling in.

In Word, display the Drawing toolbar if it isn't already
displayed (View | Toolbars | Drawing), and click on Draw | Grid |
uncheck the "Display gridlines on screen" box | OK.
