How can users access textboxes in a protected document?
I'm trying to insert a textbox in a protected document so users can enter
information on it, but Word won't allow me to enter text in the textbox once the document is protected. I divided the document into several sections so I could protect or unprotect each section depending on whether I wanted users to input information or not on a particular section (ToolsProtect documentFilling in form). It seems that even though I have inserted the textbox in a particular section of the document (marked as unprotected), Word assigns it to another section. Is there any way I can have functional textboxes in a protected document? |

If you used Insert | Text Box or the button on the Drawing toolbar, this is
the problem. You need to insert a Text Form Field from the Forms toolbar. -- Suzanne S. How can users access textboxes in a protected document?
Thanks for your comments. Actually, I need to insert a textbox. It has to be
a textbox, a text form field won't do for what I want. Do you know if there's any way I can insert a textbox and still be able to access it when the document is protected? Like I said, I tried inserting the textbox in an unprotected section of the document, but it won't work. "Suzanne S. Use a frame or table cell instead of a text box, but you'll still have to
put some kind of form field in it if you want to be able to access it when the document is protected. -- Suzanne S. How can users access textboxes in a protected document?
In the end I was actually able to solve this problem. I inserted a frame
instead of a textbox, and it works. I can place a frame in an uprotected section, protect the document and then be able to access the frame when the document is protected.
