I would lilke to know if I could set up a footer that would be present at the
bottom of the first page of the doc, if the doc was one page. If the doc is 2
pages, I would like the footer to be only on the 2nd page. I have
experimented with different layout options, but can't seem to find the right
combination.

What should happen if the document has three pages (or more)? If you are
saying that the footer should be on the *last* page of the document, use
this field construct in the footer:

{ IF { PAGE } = { NUMPAGES } "insert contents here" }

To insert each pair of field delimiters, { }, press Ctrl+F9. Press F9 to
update the selected fields. To show/hide field codes, use Alt+F9.
