Default Word shuts down

Windows XP Home
Word 2002

When cutting and pasting from some sources such as IE when you paste
into word it shuts down. Cutting and pasting text within Word works
fine. Excel, etc., no problem.

This happens to one user account on the p.c. only - a newly created
user does not have the same problem. This suggests it is in that users
settings - but where?

n.b., both use the same normal.dot

Two things. First, try the steps shown he

http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/AppErrors/...peningWord.htm

I would focus on the data key in the registry.

Second, two users should NEVER use the same Normal.dot file. Doing so is
working against the reason normal.dot exists (so a user can establish a
number of personalized settings an customizations).
