Default resetting to original default menu

Help! while trying to remove the markups from showing on my document I some
how I changed the original default setting for the toolbar. Now I can't copy
and paste and the icons are grayed out even though when I go into
Tools/options my cut and paste button is clicked to show. I just want
everything back to where it was.

Which version of Word do you have?

Is this problem appearing only in the one document, or for all documents?
