spelling and grammar checks
I edit academic papers, and make a lot of use of Comments. Sometimes Word spell-checks text in comment boxes, sometimes not - the same in the review pane The same is true of Languange setting - usually it does not affect comment boxes, which still format text according to an original langauge, not to the one I want to use.
