Default Different display of Word Document on external PC

Hi,

I've a Word 2000 Document with a true type font (ZapfHumnst BT). I've
included the true-type fonts by checking the box in Save Options. And sent it
to a person outside my office, who has no ZapfHumnst installed. When he opens
the document he gets a completely other font, although the box in the toolbar
displays "ZapfHumnst" (to be su the Automatically Update Document Styles
is NOT checked).

What is the matter and what can I do?

Thanks for suggestions

This is normal. Word's Font box will always display the name of the font
applied, but if the font is not installed, it cannot be displayed in the
document. If the font is embeddable, you can try embedding it. Otherwise, a
"similar" font will be substituted for display and printing. Your recipient
can control what substitute is used by clicking Font Substitution... on the
Compatibility tab of Tools | Options.

Thanks, Suzanne,
I've found an article on internet:
"HOW TO: Embed TrueType Fonts in a Document in Word 2000"

Herein is stated that the license category of the font determines how the
font may be embedded in the document (from "Protected" to "Installable").
But how do I detect that license category and the way in which the font is
actually embedded?

Cheers, Henk

If you have a recent version of Windows, you should have the enhanced font
properties dialog. If not, you can get the Font Properties Extension at
http://www.microsoft.com/typography/...y/property.htm

Right-click on any font in the Windows Fonts folder, choose Properties, and
look at the Embedding tab. There is an explanation of the embedding levels
along with information on the license level for that specific font.
