Default Word 2003: Double-clicking on Format Painter doesn't work as befor

In Word 2000, if I double-click on Format Painter button, I was able to apply
formatting continuously. However I cannot do this in Word 2003. Are there any
settng to enable this?

AFAIK, the functionality has not changed, but I wouldn't know since I don't
use the Format Painter; I find it much more convenient to use the shortcuts
Ctrl+Shift+C (Copy Format) and Ctrl+Shift+V (Paste Format). When you use
these shortcuts, the copied formatting remains available indefinitely (until
you copy another), and you can paste it at any time, interspersed with doing
other things.
