Hyperlink Formatting
I am trying to edit a document that hyperlinks the Table of contents to the
section it corresponds to. What is happening is that Some tables fall in between two pages and I want to insert a page break before the table but when I do the numbers that correspond to the like do not move with the page break and then it generates the next number in the sequence. I did not create this and in-fact I am not even sure how to recreate it as I have tried Thanks in Advance - Heather |

Hi Heather-
Let me see if I'm clear on your concern -- the actual page numbers _do_ change when you create page breaks, but the references to the page numbers in the TOC do not. Is this correct? If so, it is because the TOC field doesn't update automatically by design. If you want to confirm that the TOC is up-to-date, right-click in it and choose Update Field from the pop-up menu. If another dialog box appears when you do, choose the option for updating page numbers only (unless you have new TOC entries to be added). You can also click in the left margin adjacent to the TOC to select it, then press F9. There is also a button on the Reviewing Toolbar for the same purpose.
