I use Outlook, not Outlook Express, for email. Yet when I send a Word doc as
an attachment (from within Word), it uses Outlook Express, not Outlook. How
do I tell Word to use Outlook rather than Outlook Express to send a Word doc
as an attachment?

You need to make Outlook your default mail client both in Control Panel |
Internet Options (Programs tab) and in Outlook (Tools | Options | Other).
