I have a word document that I turned into a "packing slip" for our company,
is there a way to have the address section of the document reference an excel
document so information can be pulled from it? I am looking for if they start
typing in the company name in that address field (on the word document) it
will fill it in.

Nothing simple, or built-in.

You could certainly do something using a macro. Best place to pursue that would
be the word.vba.general newsgroup. BE sure to provide the following information:

1. Whether you have any VBA experience, and in what application
2. Version of Office involved
3. (Sample) file path and name, as well as the name of the column with the
information

FWIW, the "best" approach is probably going to be displaying a Form where the
user can type / select information that will later be inserted into the
document. Unless you're using form fields?
