I have the paragraph symbol showing up in ALL word documents. How do I get
rid of it? Also, when creating a new table, a symbol appears that looks like
a O with spikes coming off each corner. (almost like a sun way with rays?)
These problems all began when I was creating a new table.

The pilcrow (paragraph sign) can be gotten rid of by clicking on the icon on
your toolbar or Tools | Options | View | and deselect the formatting marks.
