How do I turn off the auto insert current date - Help Please
Thank you for helping me!
When I type a letter in MS Word 2003 and use insert date it works fine but when I want to change the date from 2-9-07 to 2-05-07 it won't let me. It keeps coming back to 2-9-07. Even when I save letters that are several weeks old and open them again Word updates the date on the letter to the current date. Thank you again, Len "Suzanne S. Even if the date is inserted as a field, you should be able to select it and
type over it. The date will then be plain text. If you use Insert | Date and Time, you get either plain text or a DATE field depending on whether or not you have checked "Update automatically." If you use Alt+Shift+D or the Insert Date button on the Header and Footer toolbar, you get a DATE field. The field will always update to the current date; if this is not what you want, you may want to use a CREATEDATE field in your document (better to put it in the document template). Press Alt+F9 to see if what you have is a DATE field. If so, and if you want the date the document was created, type CREATE in front of DATE, then Alt+F9 to toggle back and F9 to update. See http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/TblsFldsFms/DateFields.htm for more on the types of date fields you can insert. -- Suzanne S. Hi Suzanne,
I have the same problem in the PowerPoint 2003...in Word we can toggle the field code by Alt + F9. I'm not sure how can i do the same thing for PowerPoint? Do you have any ideals? thanks.
