Field Switches
Hello,
I need to create an 'initial' field from a first name field, so I only need the first letter of the firstname. I believe it is some sort of 'ADVANCE' function however I am having trouble making it work. Can anyone suggest the switch I need to do this? Many thanks, Chris |

Field Switches
You can't do this with fields. The simplest plan would be to derive the
initial in your data source; however you may be able to do it with vba. If you are using Outlook as a data source - see the example at http://www.gmayor.com/Macrobutton.htm - Macro Code to insert name and address from Outlook (with title and initial) -- Graham Mayor - Word MVP My web site www.gmayor.com Word MVP web site http://word.mvps.org Chris Stammers wrote: Hello, I need to create an 'initial' field from a first name field, so I only need the first letter of the firstname.
