Default "Cont'd" in repeat table headers HELP

I was thrilled when I found the posts regarding how to include "Cont'd" in
repeat table headers and not have "Cont'd" show up in the TOC. I started to
revise all our content shells at work, but before I got too far, I decided to
do some testing. My major concern was that a PDF rendition would not display
the table headers correctly. Again, I was thrilled when the PDF rendition was
identical to the Word version. However, here is something I did not expect.
When printing the table, the word "Cont'd" shows up on the first page of the
table. Obviously, this is something you don't want. I do not have Print
hidden text or drawing objects checked in my Print Options menu. Does someone
have a solution?

Default "Cont'd" in repeat table headers HELP

Did you cover it with a text box or drawing object on the first page?

If you don't have "Drawing objects" checked, then of course Word will not
print the text box.

But I don't want "cont'd" to print on the first page of the table. It's not
visible on screen, and that's the way I want it to print.

From your description, I can't imagine what you have done. The text box is
what is covering "cont'd" and keeping it from printing on the first page.
Are you sure you understood the directions? You put the table caption and
"cont'd" in the heading row, then use an AutoShape (rectangle or text box)
with no line and white fill, anchored in a non-heading row (so it doesn't
repeat), to cover up "cont'd" on the first page only.
