Default Spell check fields in templates?

How do you spell check fields in templates? When I spell check the template,
it says "The spelling and grammar check is complete. Text marked with "Do
not check spelling and grammar was skipped." Are these the fields in the
template and how do you "unmark" the field so that it is checked for spelling
and grammar? Thanks, Jennifer
