Default text seems to be repeated across page boundary

Sometimes if I "overuse" a page, adding an extra line will make the last two
or three lines appear at the bottom of the page AND at the top of the next
page (but only on the screen). Scrolling the text out of the window and back
in will occassionally set it right.
At other times the lines on the next page will only disappear if I close the
document and reopen it. This must be an error in Word 2007, right?

More likely a limitation of the display driver. See if there's an update.

I find this hard to believe! Seeing the text at bottom of a page, the slip
between two pages, and the same lines on the top of the next page - this
certainly looks like a Word problem with redrawing the window.
I am using Vista 64, Word 2007, and Geforce GTS 250 with the latest driver
(from July 2009).
I will try to recreate the problem and send links to screenshots (since
pictures cannot be attached), but the error is not easy to reproduce.

Word works the display driver harder than most apps. I would suggest that
you pay attention to Graham's advice.

Now I have seen this again and documented it on a website.
At bamsesdata.dk/Word there are four files:
-- w-err1a.gif (alt+PrtScrn) showing the error. Lines 2-5 (after the
heading) on the second page should not be there. Line 2-3 can also be seen at
the bottom of the previous page, lines 4-5 are from the second column of the
previous page.
-- w-err1b.gif (after moving the window out of the screen and back in)
showing how it should have looked
-- w-err1x.gif (after two times ctrl+z) showing the lastest changes. The
marked area was deleted as change -2, after that the line immediately above
(1. d4 ...) was deleted as change -1. These two changes resulted in the error
-- w-err1.doc is the complete document that was being edited
Trying to recreate the error by deleting these lines again was not
successful, even though I tried several different positions of the window.
----
According to Windows both the Standard PnP-driver and the NVidia Geforce GTS
250 driver are fully updated. However, going to the NVidia-site and looking
for the latest driver presents a driver-update only two weeks old. I will
download that driver.
I am using Word 2007 on Vista-64
