BUG? Master Documents with SharePoint Doc Libs
I know this is an old post, but this is the exact same problem I'm having. Does anyone have any help? Jim Budde Wrote: Not sure if this is a bug or not, but what I was attempting to do was to create a master document with subdocuments within a SPS 2003 DocLib. When I try to save the master document to the Shared Library, it looks like it is trying to perform some operation with the linked document that it is unable to do and is unable to save the master document. This is the error I get, Word cannot complete the save due to a file permission error. (C:\...\Content.MSO\D7F9CD36.doc) I am able to save the Master Doc back to the doc lib if the sub doc is on the file system. It only seems to be a problem when SubDocs reside in a Doc Lib. -Jim -- ShowGal |

Ok, I figured out my own problem, and it's got to be a bug. To be able to save it, I had to open all the subdocuments, then save the master doc. But then to edit the subdocs within the master I had to close the subdocs (because they were locked in the master since they were open), then reopen them when I wanted to save the master. What a pain! ShowGal Wrote: I know this is an old post, but this is the exact same problem I'm having. Does anyone have any help? -- ShowGal |
