Default Word 2007 not scrolling with mouse - culprit found, fix available?

Through all my beta testing of Word 2007 I could not scroll using the mouse
scroll wheel. It was just Word, all other programs seem to work (nothing to
do with VB either).

I use a logitech G7 mouse and the set point drivers. I also run another
mouse driver that came with an old mouse because of a very useful function it
provides. It has an "enhance mode" that scrolls the window under the mouse
without needing it to be active (eg you can scroll all frames in a webpage by
just holding the mouse over a frame - no need to click on that frame to
identify it as the scrollable window).

Word 2007 is the *only* program that has had a problem with this feature in
the 7 or 8 years I have used this program. The problem can be reproduced by
getting a driver from http://www.driver333.com.tw/mousedriver.htm (I use a
v3.5 one) and selecting the "enhance mode" in the wheel tab.

I also suspect this is the issue behind some IBM laptop users being unable
to scroll in Word 2007 - their driver might do provide a similar function.
