Default How do I stop document from shrinking when I print?

This is usually a sign that the document has, or used to have, tracked
changes or comments. Word is allowing space on the right for balloons.

Try going to Tools Options Track Changes and setting the Use Balloons
dropdown to Never.

I did that and it still randomly chooses to shrink the document (and yes,
some of the documents that it happens to did have track changes on). I have
even tried changing printer drivers.

Make sure you are printing "Document" and not "Document showing markup."
