Word 97 filename length limited
I have Word 97 and when I try to save a file, the filename is always
truncated to 1 character only (the first letter of the filename I would like to use). I can rename the file in My Documents, and open any file in word, but saving the same file changes the filename to just the first character. |

Word 97 filename length limited
This problem occurs when Word is set to (Windows 95) compatibility mode in
Windows XP. Instructions from Office MVP Beth Melton for correcting this: To rectify: - Locate WinWord.exe - Right-click and select Properties - Select the Compatibility tab - See if you have a Compatibility Mode set - If set remove the tick in "Run this program in compatibility mode" -- Suzanne S.
