How do i create a header that displays and prints on the first page only??

Check the box for "Different first page" either on the Layout tab of Page
Setup (all versions) or in the Header & Footer Tools | Design tab (Word
2007) and put your header in the First Page Header.

Use the Page Setup dialogLayoutDifferent First Page setting or place a
conditional field in your header {If {Page} = 1 "Your header text"""}
