Default Search Direction

Occasionally, my search direction defaults to Search Down, rather than Search
All. Is there a way to change this so that Search All is always selected?
(I am using Word 2002 in Windows XP, SP2.)

Default

Generally this happens when you have text selected. If there is no text
selected, it will default to Search All.
