Default How do I get back in the insert mode in MSWorks? working on table

I am working on a table and I have difficulty in inserting text it seems to
override and I need help also How do I merge cells together in MS Works?

You are in a newsgroup for the questions concerning tables in Word, not
Works. However, the answers may be the same

To turn off overtype mode, press the Insert key on the keyboard.

To merge cells, select the cells that you want to merge and then right click
with the Mouse and select Merge Cells from the shortcut menu.
