Word Pagination Question - Vsn 2003
I have a document in which the pagination is going nuts. Here's what I did:
Created document, with "Different first page setup" selected for first page. Added page numbers on remaining pages. No problems. I then added an additional page right at the front of the document. This page included a linked spreadsheet from Excel. Actually, even though this additional sheet was added the page numbers do not need to change as, in fact, the REAL first page is still the original first page (which falls as the second sheet now since I inserted the one page with the spreadsheet). However, the header is still showing on the second page (second sheet after the one with the spreadsheet) and I have tried everything to delete it - to no avail. Two additional people in the office have also tried. HELP. |

Word Pagination Question - Vsn 2003
Word has no way of knowing that what it sees as the first page is not what
you consider the "real" first page. If you want to suppress page numbers on page 2, insert a section break between pages 1 and 2; Word will then see both of those as the first page of a section, and, since the First Page Header is empty, there will be no page number on either page. If you don't want that first page counted, either, set page numbering to start from 0. Alternatively, if this Excel sheet is not part of the logical flow of the document, and you just want it included in the file, it might be easier to put it at the end instead. -- Suzanne S.
