Ginette,
Long time since I used Word 97 but try this, select the textbox, choose Format - Textbox - on the colors and lines tab there should be a section devoted to lines, click on the listarrow and choose no line. Or on the drawing toolbar there should be a button relating to lines (next to the paintbucket maybe, click on the arrow next to it and choose no line. Does this help any?
