Header and Footer not visible
I am using word 2003 and have several templates that I use regularly. When I
open the templates the header and footer are not visible and I have to go to the view menu and click show header and footer. I have tried resaving the templates with the header and footer visible but when I open them on my computer they are not visible again. This only happens on my computer...if someone else opens them on their computer they are visible. Is there a setting would do this? I have looked throught the options dialog. Please help |

Dave, it sounds like you're perhaps used to Print Layout view and you're
stuck in Normal view. (Hitting View--Header and Footer also happens to force Print Layout view). So go to Print Layout and save the documents in this view. You may also need to open the templates and save in this view, tho doing so requires some OTHER change as well...even if you type something and delete it, then save. Make sense? ************ Anne Troy www.OfficeArticles.com "Dave" wrote in message ... I am using word 2003 and have several templates that I use regularly. Thanks for your response. When I open the file it is already in Print Layout view but the header and footer are not visible. I tried as you said to hit view-- Header and Footer and then made some other changes and deleted the changes before saving but when I reopen the file it is still the same with the header and footer not visible.
