how do I change my word cursor from a tiny dot to reguluar size?
I have started experiencing this recently but can't attribute it to any
change in particular. It first started a week or two ago and I have since reinstalled Windows and the only constant would seem to be my templates (normal & other global) So far I have always found that (pressing Ctrl and) a single mouse wheel click in either direction is sufficient to correct it. I know others have reported that simply changing Zoom isn't sufficient but just thought I'd post my experience. -- Enjoy, Tony "Suzanne S. Barnhill" wrote in message ... I have experienced this only once, within the last couple of weeks, and it
was when I was doing something unusual. I forget whether I had just installed new software (SnagIt?) or had just had a problem with a document hanging or something, but it was definitely an anomaly, and I have seen it only that one time. -- Suzanne S. how do I change my word cursor from a tiny dot to reguluar size?
After it happened to me a couple of times I modified my autoopen and autonew
macros to cover this issue and I have not seen it since. With ActiveWindow.View .Type = wdPrintView .Zoom.Percentage = 500 .Zoom.Percentage = 110 'the eyes are not what they were! End With The only time this switch is ever noticed in use is when running macro code that opens a new document to perform some task or other, when you see the 500% zoom momentarily. -- Graham Mayor - Word MVP My web site www.gmayor.com Word MVP web site http://word.mvps.org Tony Jollans wrote: I have started experiencing this recently but can't attribute it to any change in particular. Interesting. I find 105% comfortable for 12-point text on my 17" CRT screen,
but I do have special computer glasses optimized for the distance from my eyes to the screen (I'm severely myopic, so these are basically the same as the "reading" prescription in my progressive bifocals). -- Suzanne S. how do I change my word cursor from a tiny dot to reguluar size?
I work with 11 point ZapfHumnst BT for most of my personal documents and for
that I like 110% zoom. I can manage with 100%, but it gets tiring when working for long periods. I too have special computer glasses which are slightly weaker than my normal reading lenses to allow for the greater distance twixt eye and screen. -- Graham Mayor - Word MVP My web site www.gmayor.com Word MVP web site http://word.mvps.org Suzanne S. how do I change my word cursor from a tiny dot to reguluar size?
I have one document - the one where I first remember seeing this problem
which, maybe 1 time in 4, opens with the small cursor - but I can't pin down any common factor. I can correct it easily enough (with zoom) but with 100% consistency if I double click in the header and then double click back in the document the small cursor returns. -- Enjoy, Tony "Tony Jollans" My Forename at My Surname dot com wrote in message ... how do I change my word cursor from a tiny dot to reguluar size?
If anybody is still interested I am finding this happening more and more and
have tried to investigate. Others may have different symptoms (and indeed I think I may have had, but can't be certain) but for me at the moment it only appears to happen when the zoom is set to greater than 100% and Word seems to be drawing the cursor to the size it would be at 100% zoom regardless of the actual zoom - hence at 200% the cursor appears half size and at 500%, fifth size - at less than 100% it appears correct - any change to the zoom (in my experience, though apparently not true for all) forces a (correct) recalculation of the cursor size. As said before double clicking in the header and then double clicking back in the document brings back the small cursor. When it happens the symptoms can be seem in all Documents opened during the Word session. When it doesn't happen it doesn't happen in any document during the Word session. -- Enjoy, Tony "Tony Jollans" My Forename at My Surname dot com wrote in message ...
