Default Template controlling word e.g. spell checking

Hello,

a question came up in a discussion with users. How far can a word template
control Word itself? For instance is it possible to switch off spell
checking, choose a particular presentation view, zoom size etc.?

Any help appreciated. Thanks

Those settings are stored in Normal.dot. You can change any of them through
VBA associated with a template.

In a sense, yes, all of those settings can be stored in a template. You can
format styles as "no proofing," and the view and zoom saved with the
template will also be the initial view and zoom of documents based on it
(but they can be changed in the individual document).

Hi Suzanne,

Thanks for the prompt answer. That's what I expected. Quick question can I
use the Visual Studio.net Office Templates instead of VBA?

Cheers
