numbered caption
I have pictures in my documents with and their captions are as follows :
Figure 1 Figure 2 Figure 3 ..... I need to have then Figure 9.a Figure 9.b then Figure 10 Figure 11 How can I get the caption Figure 9.a and Figure 9.b |

I suppose you are using Word's caption feature? Some manual
modifications to the inserted Seq fields are required to accomplish what you want. Press Alt+F9 to display field codes. Your figure captions will look similar to: { SEQ Figure }. To create Figure 9.a and 9.b, change the corresponding Seq fields to: { SEQ Figure \# "#'.a'" } and { SEQ Figure \c \# "#'.b'" } respectively. (Note the single quotation marks around the typed period and letter!) When you are done, select the captions and press F9 to update.
