Sharing Autotext entries with multiple staff on same network Word
We have multiple staff who all need to have the same Autotext entries (Legal
descriptions, which are updated frequently); how can I set these Autotext entries to be accessible to all, and update them in one place? |

You could create a template (.dot) in which you store the AutoTexts.
Distribute the template to the users as an add-in. If the template is stored in the Word Startup folder, it will automatically be loaded as an add-in each time Word is opened. AutoTexts (plus toolbars and macros) in all loaded add-ins are available to all documents. Currently loaded add-ins are listed and have a checkmark in Tools Templates and Add-Ins. When changes are needed, prepare a new copy of the template including the changes. It is possible to have the updated version distributed automatically if you wish. For more details about the Word Startup folder and how to distribute add-ins, see this article: http://www.word.mvps.org/FAQs/Macros...buteMacros.htm -- Regards Lene Fredborg DocTools - Denmark www.thedoctools.com Document automation - add-ins, macros and templates for Microsoft Word "S trainer" wrote: We have multiple staff who all need to have the same Autotext entries (Legal descriptions, which are updated frequently); how can I set these Autotext entries to be accessible to all, and update them in one place? |
