Default Page doesn't display the right size on screen

Microsoft Office Word, 2003
When Word is started, the page display looks more square than 8-1/2 X 11.
The display is at the top of the window, and text and graphics aren't
positioned right. 8-1/2" X 11" is the selected page size but I can't change
the way it is displayed on my monitor. This is very frustrating because I
can't see the true position of what I am working on. Something has changed in
the default startup that I need to get back to the way it was. Please help!

Daiya,
Yep! You solved the problem. The option to view "White Space" between pages
was not checked (Tools-Options-View). I did not have multiple pages, but it
solved the problem. Thanks so much.
