Default Mail merge via web service

We would like to embed our word documents in a database and use a web server
to run mail merges. If I have Microsoft word installed on a local machine,
does it support getting marge data from a URL?

No, word mail merge requires the data to be saved in a file with a
"traditional" file path (either local machine or LAN).
