Default word 2007, where is ocr?

Hi,
I have word 2003 on my computer and can scan and then import to word 2003
via the tools drop down menu using the scanning tools.
I was going to show a friend how to do it on word 2007 on her computer, but
i couldn't find it in tools.
Can you still import scanned text into word 2007?
If you can, can anybody tell me how?
TIA

Mike

Scanner and OCR are functions of the scanner and scanner tools. These would
have been installed when you installed your scanner. The OCR utility that
came with your scanner then has a plug-in that works with Word. Most
scanners come with some sort of OCR utility, so check on your friends PC to
see if it has been installed: by the sounds of it, it hasn't.

Hi Mike,

MS Office Document Imaging and Document Scanning is still provided in Office 2007. It's pretty much unchanged from the Office 2003
version and as in Office 2003 it's an optional installation feature from the Microsoft Office choice in Add/Remove Programs in the
Windows control panel.

The change is rather it being a 'pull' system (i.e. you call it from Word) it's a 'push' system, where, for OCR text to Word you can
start from MS Office Document Scanning in Start=Programs=Microsoft Office=Microsoft Office tools.
