Default how to remove the page numbers in a word document?

a document has page numbers in all the pages. Now I want to remove the page
numbers in all the pages. How to do it? Thanks

View | Header and Footer. Select the page number. If you don't see a hashed
border around the number, press Delete. If you do see a border, click on the
border to select it (you'll see six square black sizing handles), then press
Delete.
