Table of Contents
Is it possible to have a Table of Contents entry for a page range, such as:
SECTION I Introduction 1-2 Reports 3-7 Charts 8-9 Or can you only reference one page per entry? |

Table of Contents

The TOC field that generates the table of contents can't do this. If your document won't change any longer, so the TOC doesn't need to be updated, then you can unlink the TOC field by clicking in it and pressing Ctrl+Shift+F9. That turns it into plain text, which you can edit to add the dash and ending number for each entry. It seems like a lot of unnecessary work, though -- the natural assumption in all TOCs is that each entry ends on the page preceding the start of the next entry (or possibly the same page, if the layout is continuous). -- Regards, Jay Freedman Microsoft Word MVP FAQ: http://word.mvps.org Email cannot be acknowledged; please post all follow-ups to the newsgroup so all may benefit. |
