I've recently upgraded to from Word 2003 to Word 2007. When I use the Spike
while recording the macro it is entered as
"NormalTemplate.BuildingBlockEntries.AppendToS pike Range:=Selection.Range"
rather than the now correct "NormalTemplate.AutoTextEntries.AppendToSpike
Range:=Selection.Range"

Is there any way to have it record the macro correctly, or do I just need to
fix it every time?

The macro recorder never has been able to handle every requirement. Word
2007 is no exception.

The spike was properly recorded in Word 2003. I have sent feedback that
this should be corrected.
