Default Surpressing a Header or Footer

If it is the first page, on Page Setup, Layout, Different first page.
See http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Formatting...rontMatter.htm

If not then you will need to enter some section breaks, unlink the
Header/Footer from previous.
See http://word.mvps.org/faqs/formatting...onscontent.htm

Hope this helps

If it is a page in the middle of a document and always the same page number
you could conditionally insert the header eg to avoid page 4 use

{IF {Page} 4 "Insert your header here"}
