OT Vegemite
Jay, Suzanne and others...
In my gratitude for the marvellous advice often given on here I have often offered to send a jar of Vegemite from deepest Australia with my compliments. I see in my newspaper today that Vegemite is now illegal in the USA, so that's off now. But greetings to all anyway. PS: I tried disabling Norton's but it made no difference in this case... |

I've had one or the other--think probably it was Marmite (my son-in-law is

50's babies in the UK were known as Marmite babies.. it was something we

I was born in the '40s and don't think I ever had any of those things (not
even the dread cod liver oil, though I knew about it from books, where it was axiomatic for medicinal nastiness, along with asafoetida). What we did have was Zweibach and Pablum. -- Suzanne S. I still take cod liver oil (for my arthritic knees), but fortunately in capsule form these days (though they still sell it in bottles for the brave). I still have cod liver oil (in capsules) every day (much more palatable than
the liquid we had as kids). Hey! Can't let this pass without a work in defense of the stuff - Marmite &
