When the cursor is in any table, the Table Tools tab appears on the ribbon.
Under that are the Design and Layout tabs. On the Layout tab, click the View
Gridlines button to turn it on; on the Design tab, click the down arrow on the
Borders button and choose No Border.

Default Table cell lines - in Office Word 2007

Thank You. Word 2003 was SO much easier to navigate and figure out than Word
2007.
