a line with an arbitrary length
Hi,
I want to write a line about 3 dash lines long. If I press the dash key 3 times, the line is broken into 3 pieces. That is, they are not connected. Is there a way to draw a line with an arbitrary length? Please advise. Thanks. Tony |

The three-em line prescribed for bibliographies is difficult to achieve in
some fonts, which has discontinuous em dashes. In such cases you can either substitute a font with connected dashes (such as Times New Roman) or select the three dashes you've inserted, go to Format | Font: Character Spacing, and condense the spacing until they become continuous. -- Suzanne S. You can use the line tool from the drawing menu, or press tab and set a line
leader tab stop. Trying to create graphic effects by repeating a character is nearly always a poor method. "Tony Young" wrote in message ... Hi, I want to write a line about 3 dash lines long. Unless you're trying to create a 3-em dash rather than a "graphic effect."
