print multiple pages after mail merge on a single sheet of paper
Hello!. After merging 100 students' name and data in to a small 5 line
document that is to be posted to parents of each student, it is uneconomical to print it. I want to print TWO merged pages on a single sheet of A4 size paper.so that it is more economical to the authorities. Please show me the way. Thanks a lot. Kindly send a copy of the reply to " also. Execute the merge to a new document and then in the FilePrint dialog,

Sir,Thanks for prompt response.
I have already done exactly what you have advised. but the print becomes too small to be of any importance or -as you can see- of not any weight for the receiver. What in my mind was, IS it possible to print two pages ( 100% of the document) seen on the monitor? i.e. without reducing the size of the text. Also,this way, it does not print in portrait lay out. When I tried to print by zooming 2 pages per sheet, it printed in Landscape layout. Also, Layout option to (in Layout properties of the Print dialogue of HP Laserjet6L printer) 2 pages per sheet did not help. Even,in 'page setup' option of paper 2 pages per sheet did not help. I tried to print sections { in pages s1 -s100} also, giving 2 pages per sheet option. A decent looking document with two merged (papers) documents on one sheet is what my goal. zoom, naturally reduces the size of the document. Please enlighten me and oblige. thanks. Does one merged record fit on less than half of one portrait page? If
yes, then a "low-technology" method is to execute the merge to a new document, print half of the merged records, take the printed output and put it back into the printer's paper input tray but rotated 180° from the original input direction, print the remaining half of the merged records, and then cut the printed pages in half. hirendra7158 wrote: Sir,Thanks for prompt response. Probably best to set the page orientation of the mail merge main document to
Landscape mode and insert three column by one row table in the document. Reduce the width of the central column so that it will give an appropriate margin when you cut the page in two and make the first and the last column of equal width. Then set up a copy of the letter in both the first and the last cell and before the first merge field in the third cell, insert a Next Record field. Have I understood you properly when I state this? please? I merge the way you advise. After inserting the NEXT field ( from Insert menu NEXT) I proceed to complete merging. Thanks sir for a prompt and useful response,
after going through and following your advise I found that the two merged letters printed on one sheet alright. absolutely perfect. The hitch is: on first sheet two letters are printed, say for students A and B each. BUT, the other paper prints letter for Band C!. Is ther any way to force Word to print letter for student C and D on the other sheet? I hope I can explain my question. letters for students A to Z, to be printed like this: on first sheet for student A and B. On the other sheet for C and D. still another should print letter for student E and F. Like that.... any clue?? can any settings in Print dialogue box help? like s1,s3,s5,s7 as 'Pages to Print'? It sounds as if you are /previewing/ the merge. You need to complete the
merge by merging to an output document or to the printer.
