Default How do I unlock a master document?

Somehow my "blank" document is locked and cannot be used. I have to go to
Suite to open a new "letter". Several other documents are locked. They are
not subdocuments but the original. I cannot seem to "unlock them. Can any
one offer some assistance? I am using Windows XP.
