Default How do I adjust the amount of footnote space in a Word Template?

I have used a standard template and inserted a footnote. The foot note now
consumes 1/3 of the page. I would appreciate it if someone could tell me how
to adjust the space that the footnote takes up at the bottom ofthe page.

There is no way to "adjust" this. Footnotes take up however much space they
require. If your footnotes are taking up too much space, then apparently
they are too long, and perhaps you should consider endnotes instead.

Craigus, see also the very last section of the article at
http://word.mvps.org/faqs/formatting...OnDiffPage.htm, and clear the
"Keep lines together" option if it has been (inadvertently) enabled.
